Most people that join some type of MLM business are normally told by their upline to market to their family and friends which is not a terrible statement.  Then they are directed to internet marketing like video marketing, social media, article marketing, pay per click marketing, email marketing, and many more.  Most people are focused on online marketing and never think about using offline marketing which has been working for centuries.  One in particular is using yard signs, which is commonly used in the real estate industry.

Yard Signs aka realtor signs are a great tool for exposing an opportunity and recruiting locally.  I'm sure you have seen several of these signs driving around your neighborhood.  To be honest I don't know why this method of advertising isn't used more often when it comes to building your MLM or Network Marketing business.  This strategy is very easy to duplicate and is very cost effective.  I place about 15 signs at a time in one area and it normally produces about 10-20 calls a day for about 2 weeks.

I'm sure your next question is how do I get my hands on some of these yard signs?  Cheapsigns.com is a great place to get your signs created.  My preference is Supercheapsigns.com but both are cost effective ways to get your message across.  I learned that it is recommended to use a yellow background with black lettering which gets the best results.

Money Using Pinterest

The Pinterest Business Model

Pinterest is ideally suited for affiliate marketers. The network serves a mostly female audience that loves to shop. They off them is to post, or “pin”, items that would be of interest to these women and link those items with an affiliate link. This is why you see so many pins with items from Amazon.com. Ten times out of ten, that Amazon link will be an affiliate link.

Before you go blasting Pinterest with your Amazon links, you need to do a couple of things.

Cloak The Affiliate Links

If you’re going to post affiliate links to Pinterest, you must cloak the links. Pinterest uses a service call Skimlinks that scans their network for affiliate links, and then change those links to their affiliate ID!

You should cloak your link with a custom short URL. I wouldn’t recommend using a well known service like Bit.ly or Tiny URL. Chances are, Skimlinks have them in their database of links to skim. The best link cloaking service to use is LinkTrackr .

Not only does LinkTrackr allows you to monitor clicks and conversion, you can wrap the links around a custom short URL that will be outside the Skimlinks database. This ensure that your affiliate links won’t be changes to the Pinterest affilate ID, and you’ll get credit for the sale.

Host The Images On Your Server

You should host all the images you pin on your server. Pinterest links all the images back to their source. If you’re pinning items right from Amazon, clicking on the image will take a user to Amazon. Since you can’t link an image with your affiliate ID, it’s best to send the user to the site where you host the image and post the link there.

Don’t Spam

The Pinterest spammers use bots to automate the process of creating accounts and posting pins. I don’t recommend you do this. Like Facebook, Pinterest will get better at detecting and banning spam pins. You should take a long-term view if you want to make money off Pinterest. Spend an hour or so a day and post pins of stuff you love. Link those pins with a LinkTrackr  link and keep building. In a month or so, you’ll have a Pinterest page with thousands of items all with affiliate links, and should make some decent coin from it.

Of course there is a right way and a wrong way to go about this. You have to make sure that you take the right approach.

1. The number one thing to remember about this is not to spam and promote your business in a way that your followers will become annoyed. Think about it from your perspective. Would you want to be bombarded with a sales pitch everyday? This is definitely not engaging with your followers.
2. Before you start make sure you read all of the rules and regulations. You will be banned very quickly if you abuse the system.
3. Buying followers is not effective. It is a black hat technique and it is just lazy. There are applications where you can find followers who share the same interest as you and this is the better way to go about things.
4. Really focus on quality followers. Rather have fewer followers then a bunch of high school students who merely follow you because they want to increase their popularity.
5. The tweets must come from the same person or someone in your company. You don’t want it to sound like you have hired someone from India who knows nothing about the company to type in 150 words everyday.
6. Create an exciting, enthusiastic blurb. People won’t want to follow you if you are boring and bland.
7. Respond when someone sends you a message or tweets you. This is a nice bonus and you should take advantage of it.

Pinterest is one of the fastest growing social websites on the net and has the best buying demographic…Females (Just a joke). So why not jump on the train before it gets too full. I’m going to get straight to the point and show you how I make money and get traffic from Pinterist with just 1 account.

Create Boards

I’m not going to go through all of the basics like how to create an account. So I am going to start by going over what type of boards to create.

You are going to want to create 6 to 10 boards with one of them being your niche. The other boards are going to be popular subjects such as motivational, getting healthy, beautiful.

The reason for that is because a lot of people will be looking for them and because that’s where were going to repin popular pins and then other people will repin those pins which will give us more exposure and more people will follow us.

Who To Follow

There are a lot of marketers and bots on Pinterest so we want to not waste our time following them. This is a work in progress but what I found is to look for people that have a low number of followers and people they are following where they are both somewhat in proportion. So I would look for someone that has 30 to 200 people that are following them and they are following. That’s my ideal person to find. Once I find them, I follow them and then go to the list of people that they are following and follow them. In that list I look for more people that I would want to follow so that I can find the people they’re following and so on.

I started following like this because people follow their friends so I want to move that way not backwards towards people that are following them. Because anyone can follow anyone so a lot of the people that are following them can be bots. And if I do end up at a marketers profile, they’re going to want to follow real people, so it’s not bad to follow the people they’re following anyways.

So it’s win-win if I end up at a marketers page or not.

Start Getting Noticed

The next thing to do is to start liking and repinning other peoples pins. Search for something related to each of your boards and repin 10 to 20 of the pins. This will get you content be shown to other people. Then search again for things to go on another board and so on. What all this does is notifies the people you pinned and liked that you did that. So now they know you and if they like your boards will follow you.

How To Make Money

There are several ways to make money from Pinterest such as CPAs and Adsense but the way I like to make money is through Amazon. Since Pinterest started deleting your affiliate ID from an Amazon link the only way to get around it is sending traffic to a website and then sending them to Amazon.

This is how most gurus tell you to make money. They tell you to make a website, put some content with images on it.. And then pin the images to Pinterest and watch the traffic and money roll in. Now, I don’t have doubts that this works but I know that you need to create many accounts in order to get this done and make a lot of money.

That’s just not something that’s appealing to me. It seems like way too much work. So I’ve come up with a way to kill two birds with one stone. I do everything the gurus say by making an account on Pinterest and a website to post pictures on but I already have massive amounts of traffic available to me from where I create the website.

Instead of Uncle Sam fighting you all the way (taxing all your income), he actually becomes an active partner by giving you all kinds of tax breaks and incentives to succeed.

There are only two sources of money:

1) PEOPLE AT WORK, and 2) MONEY AT WORK...

I don't have to be physically present to teach you something. I may be sleeping, or vacationing on the other side of the world while you are learning or sharing this information.

Unfortunately in most traditional businesses, the only ones who benefit from leverage are the owners or stockholders. The loyal, hard-working employees do most of the work. The unique and wonderful thing about the Network Marketing business model, is that everyone has the same opportunity to become the 'owner' of their own business - with a fraction of the investment of time and money of a traditional business or franchise.

And instead of worrying about training people to become your competitors, in network marketing the people at the top have a vested interest in helping others on their team succeed.

Again, the question I ask prospects here is:

"If you had the choice to receive 100% of one person's efforts, or 5% of 100 peoples', which would you choose?"

And again, if they answer 100%, either: 1) they're not a good prospect or, 2) they need a remedial math class or additional education.

Many talented people would rather just depend on themselves, and have difficulty grasping the importance of this concept.

Obviously 100% of one is always only one. But 5% of 100 is five. That's a 500% increase and is significant! And with synergy, sometimes it can be even more!

Not only will the total result with leverage almost always be a lot more, but your income is not dependent on only one person. If it is, and that person gets sick or injured, disabled, dies, quits working, or decides to go on a long vacation, your income could stop!

But if your income is produced by the activities of many, it is much more dependable. Even if something unexpected or negative happens to one or more of those people, it only has a minor effect on the total production. That's what allows people who understand and take advantage of this to live the lifestyle they choose or get paid while on extended vacations.

It's great to get paid while you're on vacation or doing other things you love! That's one of the many advantages of leveraging your time, and is just one of many reasons so many high income professionals from all walks of life are flocking to get involved in Network Marketing.

Many professionals who make great incomes, get frustrated at the 'bottom line' after putting in long hours just to cover overhead and miscellaneous expenses. No matter how much you earn per hour, if you don't learn to leverage your time, your earnings will always be limited by the number of hours you can work in a day. And nobody wants to work 24 hours! But even with a small network marketing organization, you can produce equivalent results to working 24 hours a day, with a fraction of the individual effort.

Learning to leverage your time (and money) is an important step toward gaining Financial Independence and Time freedom.

3) GEOMETRIC GROWTH - DUPLICATION - POWER OF ONE:

The best illustration I've seen of geometric growth is the penny-a-day example. It's also frequently used to illustrate the benefits of tax free compound interest.

If you start with one penny, and double it every day 30 days, how much will you have at the end of 30 days?

If you haven't heard this before or don't remember, go ahead and take a guess. Day two you'd have 2 cents; day three you'd have 4 cents, then 8, 16, and so on. How much at the end of 30 days?

I've never had anyone who hadn't heard this before come close. So don't feel bad if you don't, and I promise not to laugh. Ready? Did you pick a number?

Would you believe over FIVE MILLION DOLLARS?! ($5,368,708 to be exact!) That's right! Most people don't believe it until they punch it out on a calculator. And even then it's sometimes hard to fathom. But it's true. Isn't that amazing?

That's a simple illustration of how networking can work. If I can teach you, I've doubled myself. If we each teach someone else, we've doubled again. And as this goes on and on it can produce amazing results in a relatively short period of time, just like the penny example.

The easier your program is to do and the lower the cost to get involved, the more people you can appeal to and the more potential for geometric progression to work. Programs that are too complicated or expensive for 'average' people to do will always hinder your growth.

Great salespeople can succeed at almost anything they apply themselves to. But not many people have the talents, skills, or desire to be great salespeople. IT'S NOT DUPLICATABLE!

The Network Marking business model is about a lot of average people doing a little, not a few talented people doing a lot.

While lower cost of entry can be an advantage, many programs that are 'free', don't offer any real potential for significant income, and often attract people who aren't willing to work to build their business. So REALISTIC INCOME PRODUCING POWER is an important area to consider.

Joining a 'downline club' or any other program that promises any variation of - "we'll do everything for you" - will never produce significant LONG TERM passive residual income, because the majority of people who join are looking for a free ride or are too lazy to build anything significant. None of these programs have ever worked long term and none ever will. It's a simple fact of life successful networkers accept early on.

The penny a day example is a great model for illustration, but in 'real life' it never works exactly like that. Some people never recruit anyone, and others find 10 - 20 - 30 or more. It helps to understand human nature, and an IMPORTANT, but little known reality called REVERSE GEOMETRIC GROWTH.

But no matter what the percentages are, certainly many new millionaires are created every year in the Network Marketing industry.
